A Culinary Adventure Along Jervis Bay’s Stunning Coastline

Coastal Forage is an immersive, one-of-a-kind food and nature experience, showcasing the Shoalhaven region’s best local produce, wine, and culinary talent. Set along a breathtaking 6 km stretch of the Jervis Bay coastline, this 10-course tasting event takes guests on a journey through pristine beaches and nature trails, offering a true paddock-to-plate experience in one of Australia’s most stunning coastal landscapes.

Over the course of 2-3 hours, you’ll enjoy gourmet offerings at food stations set along the beach, with your toes in the sand and the ocean breeze on your face. This unique event is more than just a lunch—it’s an opportunity to meet the region’s most celebrated chefs, producers, and artisans. Along the way, you’ll also learn about the fascinating flora, fauna, and marine life that call Jervis Bay home.

Local Collaboration Events and Festivals

Old Salt Distillery frequently collaborates with prestigious regional partners to host unique off-site culinary events, such as the Twilight Feast at Bundanon. These experiences pair artisanal, fire-inspired dishes from chefs Terry and Michelle Robinson with expert cocktail pairings. From “meet the maker” dinners at The Growers to scenic landscape feasts, these partnerships showcase the best of Shoalhaven’s local food and spirit culture.

Beyond private dinners, Old Salt is a regular fixture at major regional festivals, bringing their craft spirits and signature wood-fired cooking to a wider audience. You can often find them at the Spirits of Jervis Bay Festival, where they serve seasonal spritzes and seltzers on tap. Their reach extends to events like the Narooma Oyster Festival and the Coastal Forage along Jervis Bay, an immersive walking degustation where they provide perfectly matched gin and food pairings at dedicated tasting stations.

Degustation nights at Old Salt Distillery in South Nowra are unique, intimate dining events that transform an industrial-style distillery into a refined, fine-dining setting. Led by chefs Terry and Michelle Robinson, these events celebrate Australian producers, offering a 7-8 course menu focused on local land and sea produce, featuring open-fire cooking and embracing the season.

Old Salt’s degustation nights offer an intimate and exclusive dining experience set directly within the open distillery, where limited seating ensures a personal touch. The menu features locally sourced ingredients from within a day’s drive, refined by the chefs’ fine-dining expertise and often enhanced by the bold flavours of wood-fired cooking. To complete the journey, each course is thoughtfully paired with house-made cocktails, craft beers, or hard seltzers, all crafted using the distillery’s own spirits and mixers.
